The Lenovo 7Y37A01088 is an 8-port internal 12Gb SAS/SATA non-RAID Host Bus Adapter based on the Broadcom SAS3408 IOC. Operating over a PCIe 3.0 x8 bus, it functions in pure IT passthrough mode without RAID abstractions or write-caching latency. It is the standard host adapter for Software-Defined Storage platforms including VMware vSAN, Ceph, and TrueNAS CORE.

Compatibility

Compatible with Lenovo ThinkSystem SR650, SR630, SR850, ST550, and SD530 compute nodes. It connects directly to internal drive backplanes using two Mini-SAS HD (SFF-8643) internal connectors. Because it is a non-RAID HBA, it does not support hardware RAID 5 or 6 volume creation and requires no cache backup capacitor.
