The Cisco MDS 9148V is a 1RU, 48-port Fibre Channel switch with 64 Gb/s ports, the 64G step up from the MDS 9148T. Ports autosense at 8, 16, 32 and 64 Gb/s and sit in two groups of 24, with 24 ports active in base models and licenses adding ports in steps of 8. Cisco's data sheet lists NVMe over Fibre Channel support, VSAN isolation, FC-SP security and built-in SAN Analytics, which needs a Premier subscription. Buyers use it as an edge or small-core SAN switch for all-flash arrays and high-speed hosts.

Buying a used MDS 9148V: what to check

Check how many port licenses are active, since the base switch has 24 ports and extra ports need license files tied to the serial number. Confirm the airflow direction and PSU type match your rack, check that the fan tray and both PSUs are present, and ask whether SFP+ optics are included.
