HPE ProLiant DL380 Gen11

CurrentServers2U rack

The DL380 Gen11 is HPE's mainstream two-socket 2U rack server for the Sapphire Rapids and Emerald Rapids generation of Xeon processors. It is the box most enterprises standardise on for virtualisation, databases and general workloads, which is why it is also the most traded HPE model on the second-hand market. Compared with the Gen10 Plus it moves to DDR5 memory, PCIe Gen5 and U.3 tri-mode drive bays, and the LOM moves to an OCP 3.0 slot. Buyers of used units should check the iLO 6 Advanced licence, the installed MR or SR controller (the MR416i-p is the common one), the drive carriers and whether the Smart Array battery is present.
