The Juniper QFX5200-64Q is a 2U high-density datacenter spine and aggregation switch providing 64 ports of 40GbE QSFP+ with up to 16 ports capable of 100GbE QSFP28 operation. Powered by dual Broadcom Tomahawk ASICs delivering 5.12 Tbps of throughput, the switch was engineered for large-scale 40G datacenter backbones requiring immense port density in a fixed form factor. In secondary hardware channels, the 64Q offers cost-effective 40G aggregation and high-density 10G breakout capacity.

Generations

Works together

How the juniper QFX Series QFX5200-64Q connects to servers, storage and the network: 3 ways, with the parts and products on each path.

iSCSI and NVMe/TCP over EthernetFile storage (NFS and SMB)Hyperconverged cluster

iSCSI and NVMe/TCP over Ethernet

Keep the speed the same at all three points: a 25GbE server, a 25GbE switch port and a 25GbE array port. Mixed speeds work but the slowest link sets the pace.

File storage (NFS and SMB)

Front-end ports face the clients; back-end ports (on scale-out systems) connect the nodes to each other and need their own switch pair.
